This exhibit depicts a C5-6 anterior cervical discectomy and fusion with an integrated PEEK implant. The procedure begins with an incision over the anterior neck, exposing C5-6. Distraction pins are placed and a midline C5-6 disc herniation is removed. Bilateral foraminotomies are then performed to decompress the cervical nerve roots. The vertebral endplates are decorticated with a rasp, and the cage portion of the implant is packed with bone graft. The device is impacted into the disc space, positioning the plate portion of the implant against the anterior vertebral bodies. Lastly, screws are inserted through the implant, stabilizing the fusion.
