Partial Amputation of the Right Hand with Reattachment

SKU: C19009

This exhibit depicts a partial amputation injury to the right hand with surgical reattachment. The bony pre-op condition shows partial amputation and fractures through the carpal bones. Overlying soft tissue damages include transection of the thumb through the extensor tendons, transection of the dorsal vein, and transection of the dorsal sensory nerve. Post-operatively, the carpals have been reduced, with fracture reductions held in place with K-wires. The wrist extensor tendons have been reattached to their distal counterparts with sutures. The dorsal sensory nerve and dorsal vein have also been sutured.
