Arthroscopic and Open Surgery of Right SLAP Tear and Bankart Lesion

Surgery is performed to repair tears of the right labrum and rotator cuff, including a type 2 SLAP tear and Bankart lesion. Synovitis throughout the glenohumeral joint is removed with a shaver, and the articular rotator cuff tendon tears and labral tears are debrided. A biceps tenotomy is performed, and the biceps is later tenodesed to the humerus. The full-thickness cartilage injury on the glenoid is trimmed back to a stable base, and microfractures are made in the glenoid to promote healing. The Bankart lesion is repaired, and the SLAP tear and Bankart lesion are secured with suture anchors. The subacromial space is decompressed, and platelet-rich plasma is injected into the right shoulder joint.
