Homonymous Hemianopsia of the Eyes
This exhibit compares the normal field of vision with homonymous hemianopic vision. Homonymous hemianopsia is a condition in which vision is lost with respect to the vertical midline in both eyes. This occurs when there is an injury to the visual processing center of the occipital lobe. In this particular case, a left sided occipital lobe infarction leads to right sided vision loss in both eyes.
