Normal Pupillary Response vs. Permanent Left Pupil Dilation

Normal Pupillary Response vs. Permanent Left Pupil Dilation

SKU: C06008

This exhibit compares normal pupillary response to a patient with permanent left pupil dilation. Normal pupils have a diameter of 5-6mm in moderately lit settings, and 2mm in brightly lit settings. Both pupils dilate equally. Under moderate light, Mr. Doe’s right pupil reacts normally at 5-6mm, and 2mm in bright light. His left pupil however, remains dilated to 8mm regardless of light exposure. This results in decreased visual acuity in the left eye, with severe blurring and bright glares.
