Normal vs. Frontal Brain Damage
This exhibit features three axial sections of the brain: normal brain, pre-op condition of the brain, and post-op condition of the brain. The pre-op condition shows bilateral frontal bone fractures, hemorrhagic frontal lobe contusions, subarachnoid hemorrhages, right to left midline shift, air within the skull, and mass effect upon the right lateral ventricle. Post-operatively, there is new hemorrhage seen within the bilateral frontal lobes and right-sided encephalomalacia. The right frontal sinus has also been removed and packed with gelfoam.
