Proper Female Tracheal Intubation – No Text

SKU: S09062

This exhibit depicts the proper intubation of a patient. Intubation is the insertion of a tube into the trachea to preserve airways or administer certain medications. This procedure is usually performed after administering general or local anesthesia, however it can also be performed without anesthetic in emergency situations. The endotracheal tube is passed through the mouth, oropharynx, and larynx to enter the trachea. Once properly situated, a balloon cuff is inflated just above the end of the endotracheal tube to secure it in place and prevent airway leakage.
