A humeral head fracture and torn rotator cuff are surgically repaired via an open incision. Tag sutures are placed in the anterior, posterior, and superior rotator cuff. The anterior and posterior tag sutures are tied, which reduces the fracture. The fracture is then stabilized with a plate and screws. Finally, the rotator cuff muscles are secured to the plate with sutures.
