Right Brachial Plexus Neuroma and Nerve Graft Repair

SKU: C13006

This exhibit depicts a right brachial plexus stretch injury requiring subsequent nerve graft repair. Pre-operatively, a large neuroma is seen from C5-7. The nerve roots of C5-6 are ruptured, the C7 root is partially avulsed, and C8-T1 has stretch injuries. Severe scar tissue is seen trapping the injured nerves. Surgical repairs begin with the harvest of nerve grafts from the leg and C4 sensory nerves in the neck. The C5-6 neuroma is excised, leaving the neuroma at C7, and the scar tissue is removed. Nerve grafts are placed from C5 to the suprascapular nerve and the upper trunk. Two grafts are also run from C6 to the upper and middle trunks.
