Attempted Extraction of Cataract with Intraocular Lens Implant
This exhibit depicts an attempted cataract extraction with intraocular lens replacement. First, retractors are placed on the eyelids, and a small corneal incision is made. The lens capsule is cut and removed. Solution is then injected into the eye, dislodging the lens, which floats to bottom of the posterior chamber. Finally, anterior chamber fluid is removed, and an intraocular lens implant is secured in place.
