This exhibit depicts a C4-5 endoscopic discectomy and fusion. The procedure begins with a small incision over C4-5. A discogram needle is inserted into the C4-5 disc and radiopaque dye is injected. The needle is withdrawn, an endoscope is inserted into the disc, and a partial C4-5 discectomy is performed. The removal of nucleus material creates a vacuum effect within the disc, causing the herniation to recede back into the disc space. Discoplasty is performed with a holmium laser, removing further disc material, and bone forming cells are inserted into the disc space through a catheter.
