This exhibit depicts a C5-6 anterior cervical discectomy and fusion with an integrated PEEK interbody device. The procedure begins with an incision over the anterior neck, exposing C5-6. Distraction pins are placed and a midline C5-6 disc herniation is removed. Bilateral foraminotomies are then performed to decompress the cervical nerve roots. The vertebral endplates are decorticated with a rasp, and the interbody device is impacted into the disc space. The device is stabilized within the disc space by inserting screws through the specialized anterior portion of the interbody device and into the vertebral bodies.
