This exhibit depicts a C6-7 anterior cervical discectomy and fusion with bone graft. The procedure begins with an incision over the anterior neck, exposing C6-7. Distraction pins are placed and a midline C6-7 disc herniation is removed. Bilateral foraminotomies are then performed to decompress the cervical nerve roots. The vertebral endplates are decorticated with a high speed drill, and bone graft is impacted into the disc space. Lastly, the fusion is stabilized with the placement of an anterior cervical plate and screws.
