This exhibit depicts the pre-operative conditions of a comminuted skull fracture and the post-operative surgical repairs, complete with CT scans. There is a scalp laceration of the right head with a comminuted fracture of the skull, a parenchymal hemorrhagic contusion, and hemorrhaging in the pre-operative illustration. The post-operative illustration depicts the brain’s condition following a decompressive craniectomy. A ventricular shunt was placed, and the craniectomy resulted in a herniation of the right cerebral hemisphere.
