Decompressive Craniectomy with Removal of Bone Fragments

This exhibit depicts the post-operative condition of the skull following a decompressive craniectomy. An anatomical illustration is shown alongside a 3D CT reconstruction. A large bone flap and skull fragments were removed. Frontal bone fragments were secured with a plate and screws. A subdural drain was placed where the bone flap was removed.
