This exhibit depicts arthroscopic lysis of scar tissue in the temporomandibular joint. First, an arthroscope is passed into the temporomandibular joint space. Examined pathologies include: class III and IV chondromalacia involving the posterior slope of the eminence, a heavy scar band, free floating fibrillar material, and slightly medial malpositioning of the articular disc. The arthroscope is then passed posteriorly and used to release the band of scar tissue from the articular disc.
