This exhibit depicts a C4-7 anterior cervical discectomy and fusion with bone graft. The procedure begins with the placement of Gardner Wells tongs to provide longitudinal cervical traction. An incision is made over the anterior neck, the anterior spine is exposed, and the C4-7 disc herniations are removed. Bilateral foraminotomies are then performed to decompress the cervical nerve roots. The vertebral endplates are decorticated with a rasp and PEEK interbody cages are packed with bone graft. Lastly, the cages are impacted into the disc spaces, and the fusion is stabilized with an anterior cervical plate.
