Female Left Frontal Craniotomy and Subdural Hematoma Removal – No Text
This exhibit depicts a left frontal craniotomy to evacuate a subdural hematoma. A bicoronal scalp incision is made and a craniotomy flap is drilled in the left frontal skull. The bone fragments are removed, and the dura is incised to expose a subdural hematoma. The hematoma is evacuated under suction, and the dura is closed with sutures. A subdural catheter and an intracranial pressure monitor are placed through separate stab incisions. Finally, the craniotomy flap is secured back into place with miniplates and screws.
