Insertion of Medtronics Cervical Leads and Dorsal Column Stimulator

Medtronics Cervical Leads and a Dorsal Column Stimulator are inserted via the posterior spine. An incision is made over the back of the neck, and partial laminectomies are performed at C3-C6. Medtronic dorsal column stimulator leads were inserted in the C5-6 epidural space, and wires were placed up to C2. A subcutaneous pocket was created in the left flank. The pulse generator was placed in this pocket after wires connecting it to the cervical leads were run underneath the skin.
