The steps of a left total elbow replacement are depicted in this surgical storyboard. First, a prior incision over the left posterior elbow is reopened, and hardware from previous surgery is removed. Next, the humeral joint surface and the articular surface of the ulna are removed. Finally, the shafts of the humerus and ulna are reamed for the prosthetic components to be secured within the elbow joint.
