This exhibit shows the steps of an ulnar shortening osteotomy. First, an incision is made over the left anterior distal arm. Next, an osteotomy plate was held in place on the ulna with a clamp. Holes were then pre-drilled in the ulna, and the plate was secured with screws and k-wires. 3mm of bone was resected, and the ulnar bone wafer was removed. Finally, the two ulnar bones were united with a compression tool, and the site was secured with additional screws.
