Male C4-5 Anterior Cervical Discectomy Utilizing Traction and Fusion with Integrated PEEK Device – No Text
This exhibit depicts a C4-5 anterior cervical discectomy and fusion with an integrated PEEK interbody device. The procedure begins with the placement of Gardner Wells tongs to provide longitudinal cervical traction. An incision is made over the anterior neck, the anterior spine is exposed, and the C4-5 disc herniation is removed. Bilateral foraminotomies are then performed to decompress the cervical nerve roots. The vertebral endplates are decorticated with a rasp, and the interbody device is impacted into the disc space. The device is stabilized within the disc space by inserting screws through the specialized anterior portion of the interbody device and into the vertebral bodies.
