Male C4-7 Anterior Cervical Corpectomy and Fusion with Right Iliac Crest Graft
This exhibit depicts a C4-7 anterior cervical corpectomy and fusion with iliac crest autograft. The procedure begins with an incision over the anterior neck, exposing C4-7. Distraction pins are then placed, and midline C4-7 disc herniations are removed. Total corpectomies of C5-6 are completed, and the vertebral endplates are decorticated with a high speed drill. Attention is then shifted to the right hip, where an incision is made over the iliac crest. A tricortical iliac strut graft is harvested, impacted into the vertebral column, and stabilized with the placement of an anterior cervical plate.
