This exhibit illustrates a C4-5 partial percutaneous discectomy utilizing coblation. Coblation is a non-heat driven process that employs radio frequencies to dissolve targeted tissues for removal. A nucleoplasty wand is passed into the C4-5 disc space three times, removing small amounts of nucleus tissue. Coblation of the nucleus creates a vacuum effect, causing the herniated nucleus to recede back into the disc space, decompressing the neurological structures.
