Open Reduction Internal Fixation of Comminuted Radius Fracture

This exhibit shows the post-operative conditions of a left distal radial fracture. A Synthes external fixator was used to stabilize the comminuted intra-articular radius fracture. The fixator was secured into the radial shaft and second metacarpal with screws. A Synthes Variable Angle LCP plate was used to repair the distal radius fracture via open reduction, internal fixation.
