This exhibit depicts three sagittal conditions of the eye. The normal sagittal condition of the eye demonstrates a smooth retina that conforms with the inner eye. Post-accident, the retina is torn and completely detached from the uveal tissues. The vitreous fluid is pigmented and hazy. Retinal repair is accomplished through the placement of a scleral buckle, injection of a gas bubble, replacement of vitreous fluid, and laser closure of the tear.
