This exhibit illustrates a birth injury to the right brachial plexus and the surgical steps performed to repair the affected nerves. There is an upper trunk neuroma of the brachial plexus, and the phrenic nerve is trapped in adhesions. First, an incision is made on the posterior right neck to expose the area. Next, three incisions are made in the legs to harvest bilateral sural nerves. The neuroma is resected, and the adhesions are removed via the incision over the neck. The harvested sural nerves are then grafted into the brachial plexus.
