Right Carpal Tunnel Syndrome with Surgical Release

This exhibit depicts a right wrist with carpal tunnel syndrome and surgical release. Pre-operatively, the median nerve is entrapped and inflamed within the right carpal tunnel. Median nerve compression results in pain upon wrist flexion. An incision is made over the right wrist and palm, exposing the carpal tunnel. The palmar and transverse carpal ligaments (carpal tunnel) are then incised to release the median nerve from compression.
