This exhibit depicts multiple thoracic injuries caused by blunt force trauma to the right chest and shoulder. Injuries include complex fractures of the scapula, fractures of ribs 1-7, a pleural tear, and a pulmonary contusion with a hemopneumothorax. An illustration of the current condition shows partial healing of the scapula with a residual gap in the glenoid, a floating non-union of the acromion and the coracoid, post-traumatic arthritis of the shoulder, and malunion of the rib fractures.
