Right Fifth Metacarpal Fracture, Repair, and Current Contracture
This exhibit depicts the fracture and repair of a right fifth metacarpal, with resulting current contracture. The post-fall condition consists of a buckled mid-diaphysis fracture of the right fifth metacarpal. The fracture was then reduced and fixated with a K-wire. Subsequent adhesions in the proximity of the fracture site entrap the tendons of the fifth digit, resulting in contracture of the proximal interphalangeal and metacarpophalangeal joints.
