Illustrated steps depicting surgical repairs to the right wrist are shown in this exhibit. An incision is made over the palmar wrist, and the transverse carpal ligament is incised to free the median nerve from the carpal tunnel. Next, the lunate dislocation and surrounding synovitis are visualized. A synovectomy is performed, and the lunate bone is moved back to its correct position. The hand is flipped over, and an incision is made over the dorsal wrist. The scapholunate ligament tear is exposed, then debrided, and the joint is repaired with suture anchors.
