This exhibit depicts the anterior anatomy of the shoulder with synovitis. Anatomical structures include: the clavicle, coracoid process, acromion process, glenoid labrum, humeral head, and scapula. Synovitis is the inflammation of the synovial tissues that line the joint cavities. This can occur as the result of acute joint trauma, degenerative conditions (arthritis), or autoimmune disease (lupus).
