Cervical Spine Trauma and Posterior Fusion

This exhibit depicts two lateral conditions of the cervical spine with multiple traumatic injuries. Pre-operatively, there are fractures of the anterior C5-6 endplates and C5 lamina. The C5-6 facets are dislocated, and the posterior interspinous ligament is disrupted. There is also a disc herniation at C2-3, a disc bulge at C3-4, and prior spontaneous fusion of C4-5. Repair is completed through C4-6 posterior fusion with iliac crest bone graft, rods, and pedicle screws.
