Drainage of Chronic Subdural Hematomas

This surgical storyboard depicts a five-step drainage of bilateral hematomas of an infant. First, incisions are made on both sides of the scalp. Two holes are then drilled through the skull with a bur. The exposed dura is cruciately incised, and the bilateral hematomas are evacuated. Sutures are used to close the dural incisions and to irrigate the subdural space.
