Infant Left Craniotomy and Evacuation of Subdural Hematoma
This exhibit illustrates an infant undergoing a left frontotemporoparietal craniotomy and subdural hematoma evacuation. The procedure begins with the creation of a left frontotemporoparietal scalp incision. Next, a craniotomy flap is made in the skull with a Midas Rex drill and removed. An incision is made in the dura and the subdural hematoma is evacuated with suction. The dura is then closed. Sutures are used to secure the craniotomy flap back to its original position in the skull.
