Left Wrist Arthroscopy and Ulnar Shortening

SKU: C19029

An arthroscopic examination of the left wrist reveals tears of the dorsal midcarpal, scapholunate, and lunotriquetral ligaments, grade 1 and 2 chondromalacia, and floating debris and synovitis throughout the wrist. Surgical steps are performed to repair the tears and shorten the ulna. The ligament tears, floating debris, and synovectomy are debrided arthroscopically. For the ulna osteotomy, a longitudinal dorsal incision is made and the extensor digiti minimi is retracted. A capsulotomy is then made and elevated. A small section of the interosseous nerve is excised. The capsulotomy is enlarged until the distal ulna is made visible, then the distal ulna is osteotomized.
