Right Axillary Nerve Compression and Release

This exhibit depicts an infant with right axillary nerve compression and surgical release. Pre-operatively, the axillary nerve is compressed between the humeral head and triceps tendon, with surrounding scar tissue. The axillary nerve is released from within the scar tissue, and the triceps tendon is partially removed for total decompression. Transposition of the teres major tendon insertion is completed to compensate for the partially released triceps.
