This exhibit depicts an arthroscopic surgery performed to repair a full thickness tear of the palmar radioulnar ligament. This ligament is one several that comprise the triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC). Ligaments in the TFCC stabilize the radioulnar joint and contribute to ulnocarpal stability. To repair the palmar radioulnar ligament, a synovectomy is performed to remove the inflamed synovial tissue from the TFCC. The palmar radioulnar ligament is then debrided with a shaver and repaired with a suture.
