C4-6 Anterior Cervical Discectomies and Disc Replacements

Depicted in this exhibit are the steps taken during C4-6 anterior cervical discectomies and disc replacements. First, an incision is made over the anterior cervical spine to expose vertebrae C4-6. Discectomies are carried out at C4-5 and C5-6. The bilateral neural foramina are decompressed at these levels as well. Next, vertebral endplates are milled in preparation for the Medtronic Bryan disc replacements inserted at C4-5 and C5-6.
